How to Connect to the FTP Server FAQ by Ninja_Pimp on Sat Mar 29, 2008 11:38 pm Implicit SSL It has come to my attention that comcast is sniffing packets in my complex and that they are taking "snapshots" of traffic going in and in/out of my IP periodically, this means they can see everything. so effective immediately I'm encrypting traffic to the FTP. Implicit SSL will hide everything from logon, files being downloaded to logging off. from start to end. I recommend using FlashFXP and enabling AUTH SSL, once thats turned on my FTP will allow you to logon. TURN ON YOUR FTP CLIENTS SSL feature and if it cant do it, get another FTP client that does like FlashFXP in site manager click on devilsrage login details, click on SSL tab and pick AUTH SSL make sure to connect to port 6969 How to setup FlashFXP for SSL 1. install flashFXP 2. launch flashFXP and hit F4 to open site manager 3. click on New site 4. enter Devils Rage FTP 5. now from your email copy and paste your logon details right into the IP address field ie ftp://alex:password@ftp.devilsrage.com:6969 6. click on SSL tab and pick AUTH SSL 6a. click on options tab 6b.make sure to checkmark Use Passive mode (try also non passive mode) see which works better 6c.make sure to remove checkmark for Cache Directories 7. apply to save info 8. click on connect 9. notice a certificate will appear, click accept and save on the menu bar, click on Options, File exists Rule and set to autoresume on downloading. This way if you get disconnected, FlashFXP will reconnect automatically and resume downloading for you, but you must set this file rule to Autoresume you can now leech away in complete privacy. If you must upload there are rules. Read the rules file in the Upload folder. All files must be Zipped and inside a Folder.
